Sean Investigates

Seans Writing Test

I reached inside the mysterious black box, it felt like an alien’s brain. Miss Burne was a visiting astronaut and I was the expert scientist. I had to use my super duper extra brain to see what was in the mysterious black box. I had to investigate what was in there.

When I reached into the mysterious black box it was squishy and lumpy like alien’s eyeballs. I felt so anxious. It smelt so bad like an alien’s gut. Then I took my hands out and the alien’s blood was stuck together on my hand.

Film Festival Speakers

Khaia and Collin made Room Ten so proud when they introduced our film infront of a huge audience at Sylvia Park.

Elizabeth Becomes An Expert Scientist

Elizabeths Writing Test

Excitedly I reached into the mysterious black box. Miss Burne talked to us. She said to use our imaginations. Miss Burne came back with two mysterious black boxes. I was the expert scientist. Miss Burne was a visiting astronaut. I put my hand into the first box. It felt like alien’s eyeballs.

Then I felt the other mysterious black box. It felt like alien’s food. I said “yuck”. It felt uncomfortable.

I felt anxious, I felt scared too. We were in the imaginations room. It felt disgusting, mushy and lumpy.

The astronaut Miss Burne opened the mysterious black boxes. Inside there was food. It was a bad day.

Ronn Writes About Alien's

Ronn wrote the following story for his writing test.

When I put my hand inside the mysterious back box I felt scared because it felt slimy and bumpy things were in the box. Miss Burne told us to use our imaginations, that Miss Burne was a visiting astronaut and I was the expert scientist in the science lab.

I put my hand in the box, I was nervous. I felt mushy things in the mysterious black box. I think it was alien’s brain.

When I put my hand in the next mysterious black box I felt something sharp. I think it is an aliens skull.

Alien's Eyeballs?

Ashley's Writing Test

When I reached into the mysterious black box I felt nervous. Miss Burne told us to use our imaginations. She was an astronaut from out of space.

In the first black mysterious box it was slimy, squishy and bumpy. It felt like an alien’s bones.
The second box felt like an alien’s eyeballs.

Miss Burne opened the box and she revealed the contents. The first box she opened was red, inside it was jelly. The second box she opened was green inside it was egg shells, twisted wire and it smelled yuck. We had fun. There was green food colouring and I felt happy when I had my turn.

Marilyns End Of The Year Test

Marilyn recently had her end of year writing test. She is very proud of her story which she wrote all by herself. Miss Burne has typed it for the blog with no changes from the original.
Well done Marilyn, it is a wonderful story you should be proud.

Nervously Room Ten had to use our imaginations. We had to pretend that Miss Burne was a visiting astronaut. We were an expert scientist. Miss Burne said to used our imaginations and pretend that the classroom was a science lab.

Suddenly it was my turn. I had to find out what was in the mysterious black box. I reached inside the black box. I moved my fingers around. It felt mushy like an alien's brain. As I reached out my hand I said “Ewe'' . It was all red like blood.

Next we had to feel in the second black box. I put my hand inside. It felt sharp at the edge. “It’s slimy”. I lifted up my hand it was green.

It was time to find out what was in the mysterious black box. Inside the first one was beans. It was made from cracker, pasta and red food colouring. In the other black box was made from yello egg, egg shell, yoke of the egg and green food colouring. Was it really something from an alien?

Taunese's Writing Test

Taunese shares her end of the year writing test.

As I reached my hand into the mysterious black box it was slimy. Then I moved my hands around the mysterious box. Miss Burne told us to use our imaginations, she was a visiting astronaut. I was pretending to be an expert scientist. We had to discover what was in the mysterious box.

Ashley Practices For Her Test

Ashley has written a story about learning to play tennis in preparation for her writing test. She has written this without the help of the teacher. She now can watch her movie and listen to see if her story sounds right and ask herself if she would she change anything? Do you have any advice or comment for her about her story.

Marilyn's Green Screen Movie

Did you know?

Room Ten have stared answering some of the questions they posed in their movie " I wonder".

Each week we are going to be posting a " Did You Know" movie to share what we have learnt that week. This weeks movie was recorded, made and shared by Marilyn. Great job.

Marilyn Makes A Green Screen Movie!

Marilyn started a special project this week. She was in charge of recording children of Room Ten for a movie called " Did You Know? She used imovie 11 which has the green screen effect. She has done an amazing job! She captured the children in imovie, edited the fottage and shared it for our blog. What an expert! The movie will be posted shortly.

We tried out a new green sheet for our green screen which was a little too light. After watching Marilyns movie we decided that we needed to buy a slightly darker one so that there is less flickering in the background.

Louis has been learning to record his own work and the work of others in imovie for our blog.

Here he shares his story about our first assemly of Term Four.
