Goodbye Room 8, Hello Room 10

2011 brings a change in class and room for Ms Burne. I will now be teaching Year 3 in Room 10 at Pt Engand School. My new class will be posting regularly so I hope that you will continue to follow the work that I am doing with my students. It has been wonderful to have your support and comments over the last year.

Our Butterflies

During our topic 'Little Critters', Room 8 created some beautiful collages.
We know not all of you were able to visit our class to see them so we are sharing
them here on our blog. We really enjoyed using paper in this way to make colourful patterns on our butterfly wings.

Time to say goodbye to our little critters

Term 4 saw Room 8 learning a lot about the little critters around us. We were lucky enough to have some minibeasts living with us for a while so we could look at them up close and learn about how they live. But they cannot live with us forever and in the last week of school we set them free. Here is a short movie of when we relased a weta to return to it's home.

Christmas is a time for thanks.

Christmas is a time to say thank you to those people who have an impact on your life. Room 8 have been very greatful to everyone who has read our blog and posted during the year. School begins again on the 7th of February, but we will be posting over the holidays.

Christmas is coming!

There is only a few more weeks of school and that means it is getting closer to christmas! Room 8 are getting very excited and have been busy writing letters to santa. Because it is the age of technology, Room 8 have decided that we think there might be a chance that Santa reads our blog.

We have put together this movie for Santa .. just in case!

Cowan reads the little Bulldozer

Cowan has been working very hard this term on his reading.
One of his favourite things to do is to practice his reading by reading his story to imovie. He records his voice and then listens to his reading to see how he can improve.

We're going on a bug hunt!

Room 8 is very excited, today is the 2010 Manaiakalani Film Festival.


Today our entry 'We're going on a bug hunt' was shown on the big screen at Sylvia Park Hoyts Cinema. How amazing!
