Room Ten's Film Festival Movie

It is that time again...  the Manaiakalani film festival at Sylvia Park!

Room Ten set themselves a challenge this year to try new things with green screen and imovie.
A team of children have worked, problem solved on a regular basis to create the following movie. Our goal was to create an effect where a student (Suli) could be the head of a cartoon character.  Our main character finds himeself in a tricky situation, trapped in a colouring book. Our movie is not perfect, but we learnt a lot and we really enjoyed ourselves making it.

Well done to our actors, Suli, Alice, Lukis and Venetia.
A great job from our animators Waimaria, Adam, Paris, Zack, Adriel, Elizabeth, Toma.
Big thanks to our clever thinkers Dartanian, Taunese, Suli who helped with the problem solving and planned the script.

Making A Bubble Cone

I dipped my bubble blower into the gray bucket of slimy liquid  and raised my bubble cone  and blew as slow and soft as a turtle . The adventures children of Room ten made a cone inside the sweet smelling classroom on a beautiful sunny day. We  challenged ourselves to have fun and an exciting experience.

We watched the YouTube clip, the clip demonstrated on the projecter what to do. The magical children of Room Ten made bubble cone's and celleotaped inside the of cone. I was successful in creating and making a bubble blower. My bubble cone was shaped like a ice cream cone. I keeped on going by preservered until I got it right.

Taunese writes about our Olympic Assembly

This is Taunese's first story that she has written and shared via our ipad.

Early Monday morning Pt England students went to the chilly school hall. It was immersion assembly and the topic for Term Three was the Olympics.

Team three was my favorite because when Lights  out Lavakula did her powerful punch to Boogaloo Barks and he fell on the stage, he stumbled to his feet and ran away with fear. Did you know,that this year women are allowed to box in the Olympics and that it is held in London?

A Small Space Hero

The children of Room Ten have been learning about space this term. As part of this journey they have learnt about a small space traveller who made it possible for humans to travel into space.

As I reached my hand into the mysterious black box it was slimy. Then I moved my hands around the mysterious box. Miss Burne told us to use our imaginations, she was a visiting astronaut. Chatterboxes have been pretty popular in Room Ten lately. We love them so much we thought we would make them better so that we could use them as a spelling activity during reading time.
