Brooklyn Enjoys Visiting Mt Wellington

On Thursday Team 2 went to visit Mt Wellington. Mt Wellington was enormous. We got on a bus to ride there. We had to cross the road then we had morning tea. After morning tea we went to see the crater, the crater was big. We saw volcanic rocks. We saw big rocks and small rocks. After the crater we drew what we could see. After drawing we saw Rangitoto and One Tree Hill then we had one more thing from our lunch box. Then we went back to school. When we got back to school we had lunch, then we went to play.

The bus arrived. When we went Mt Wellington on the bus we saw Rangitoto. When we all looked out we saw lots of volcanoes and we saw a very big crater it had lots of rocks in the crater.

Miss Burne made a birthday cake which looked like a volcano.

Room 8 Visits A Volcano!

Room 8 have been on a school trip to a real life volcano! We pretended that we were volcanologists and visited a volcano called Mt Wellington. Mt Wellington is one of the 50 volcanoes that are in Auckland, New Zealand.

We went by bus to the base of Mt Wellington and then we had to climb to the top. It was very steep. From the top we could see lots of other volcanoes around the Auckland area, like One Tree Hill and Rangitoto .

We walked around the crater and looked for scoria (volcanic rock).

While we were there we did lots of drawings of the crater and the volcanoes that we could see.
