How to Make a Paper Waka

Room 8 have had lots of fun making boats and testing them to see if they can float.

Room 8 have been enjoying creating lots of things during our topic
'Mighty Mariners'.

Sailing With Captain Cook

For School TV Room 8 have made a movie about Captain Cook and
the sailors on his ship the Endeavour. We had lots of fun making
our movie and we learnt a lot about what life would have been like onboard.

Room 8's Trip to the Maritime Museum

On Friday Room 8 went to the Maritime Museum to learn more about what it takes to be a successful adventurer. We had a wonderful time!

Our focus is to find out what it takes to be a successful adventurer.

We are looking at mariners such as: Kupe, Abel Tasman, Captain Cook and
Peter Blake.
