To inspire us for writing Room Ten have been pretending to be statues.
First we did some research on Google and looked at images of statues.
Next we searched You Tube and watched some amazing human statues in action. Miss Burne then asked to think about the qualities of both kinds of statues and then we played musical statues and tried to be as still as some of the statues we had seen.
Here is a short movie of our game of musical statues. Do you think we are a still as a statue?
We are busy writing our stories this week so keep checking our blog to see and hear what we wrote.
Ronn was the videographer for this movie. I am sure you agree he has done an amazing job filming our writing experience.

Writing Instructions
Room Ten have been learning how to write instructions. We imagined that an Alien has visited Room Ten from out of space to learn how we make, do and operate things.
We have been instructing our alien to make, do and operate many things. This short movie and piece of writing shows how we instructed our alien to make Fairy Bread which is sometimes served at childrens birthday parties. See if you can follow our instructions and make Fairy Bread too.

MAD SCIENTIST OR CLEVER Aaron?
During our emersion week we did a lot of cool things to find out more about soap. One of which was we did an experiment to see if we could see how soap cleaned things. How does it work?
WHAT WE DID
We had two containers both with oil and water in.
Then we added food colouring to both containers (we use different colours to see the difference).
In one container add some soap.
Stir both and see what happens.
The container with the soap mixes with the oil. The container without the soap does not mix with the oil because oil and water does not mix!! But soap cleans and mixes with the oil. AMAZING.
Watch ou movie and see how our experiment went.

Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger
Welcome Back Pt England!
Term Two is all about techology and making something bigger, better, faster or stronger!
Team Three are going to be addressing a problem that we have at Pt England School. Our problem is the spread of GERMS or BACTERIA.
Our brief is to make soap better so that children will want to use it! Tricky.
Keep checking our blog to see the process we go through to find out more about soap and then make it BETTER!

Ashley writes about Assembly
Today Room Ten went to assembly and Miss Burne was a crazy scientist because she had wacky hair. She looked funny. Miss Lavakula was in it too. She had black curly hair and she had a light brown band on her head. She was singing a song to us and Marilyn and I were clapping for Team Three.
Then it was Team Four. They were cleaning. Mr Marks had big long arms and the others had washing stuff .
Team Five was next. Team five was my favourite bit. I liked that Mrs Nua was sitting down on the chair the they put water on her hair. Then they put the pegs on her hair and tried to dry her hair. They got a leaf blower to dry her hair. It was so funnt. I liked all of the teams but team one was the best because they handed food out sandwiches, carrots, cucumbers and popcorn. I got some popcorm from Miss Wild. I like the pretend fruit on their necklaces.
